<p>William Paul Young (b. 1955) is a Canadian author best known for his novel <i>The Shack</i>. Originally written to set down his beliefs for family and friends, the book went on to be a <i>New York Times</i> bestseller for the better part a year. He was raised by his missionary parents among the Dani, a Stone Age tribe in the highlands of former New Guinea. His other books include <i>Cross Roads</i> and <i>Eve</i>. He now lives Oregon with his wife and is the father of six children.</p>
