Tom Clancy

<p>Best known for his technically detailed espionage and military fiction and his bestselling video games (<i>The Division</i> and others), Tom Clancy (1947-2013) wrote his first novel, <i>The Hunt for Red October</i>, while working at an insurance agency. The book was praised by Ronald Reagan, and launched Clancy&apos;s immensely successful career. A number of books starring the character Jack Ryan have been adapted for film.</p>
