<p>Jack Higgins (a pseudonym for the British novelist Harry Patterson, b. 1929) is one of the most popular English authors of thrillers and espionage novels. His breakthrough book, <i>The Eagle Has Landed</i>, numbers among more than 60 books by Higgins that have collectively sold more than 250 million copies — many featuring the brash young antihero Sean Dillon. Before beginning his writing career, Higgins served in the British Army along the East German border. He lives in the Channel Islands.</p>
