The fort and tell of Qala'at al-Bahrain were recognized as the island's ancient capital (and largest ancient monument) in 1953/1954 during the first Danish exhibition. Volume I covered the excavations at the northern city wall. This, the second volume, presents Excavation 519, the main investigation of the central area. This excavation is remarkable for the large area occupied by monumental building constructions. Many smaller finds are also discussed.
