Louis Pasteur was born in Dole (Jura) December 27, 1822 and died in Marnes-la-Coquette (at that time in Seine-et-Oise) September 28, 1895, was a French scientist, chemist and physicist by training, pioneer microbiology, who, even in his lifetime, enjoyed great reputation for having developed a vaccine against rabies.
