Race is one of the main dividing points of U.S. politics. The Democrats tend to attract black voters, and Republicans attract whites. However, the focus here is the division between conservatives and progressives within the white community. We start with the transcript of a real discussion that took place in the Minnesota-based e-democracy forum between March 23 and April 6, 2010. Two very different attitudes emerge among whites harboring conservative or progressive political views.
