There are 2 Jurassic Park books by Michael Crichton. Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment bought the rights to Jurassic Park before it was officially published. The book was released in 1990 and the first movie directed by Steven Spielberg came out in 1993. Both the book and the movie were huge successes. In 1995, the second novel The Lost World was published. In 1997, the next movie was released. All subsequent movies including Jurassic Park III and Jurassic World are not based on the books.
